Dear Sir,
Her Majesty the Queen recently instructed my letter regarding the Island of Forvik to be forwarded to you. As Her Majesty’s legal representative I invite your comments. For your information I am enclosing a copy of that letter.
On a related matter I am contesting the authority of HM Customs and Excise in Shetland. Since that authority must necessarily depend upon the notion that Shetland is part of Scotland and hence the UK, could you please tell me when that event happened? The authorities I have so far consulted have been unable to give me a definitive date, in the absence of which I must conclude that the UK government has no powers in Shetland beyond those of yourself as Lord Chancellor representing Her Majesty the Queen.
You may already be aware of my research in this matter. In case you are not, I humbly draw your attention to my website at: www.forvik.com. The evidence draws me to what seems the inescapable conclusion that Forvik’s true legal and constitutional position is that of a Crown Dependency and I will be pleased to enter meaningful discussions with you aimed at confirming that status.
Yours faithfully,
Stuart Hill.
