The Crown Dependency of Forvik

I made use of a short weather window to make a quick visit island to inspect the winter storm damage. The flag pole has blown down and the flag destroyed.

The shed has disintegrated, leaving some electric tools exposed to the elements – I don’t expect to be able to save them.Shed Disintegrated The slipway has simply vanished, together with all the mooring ropes. A stack of timber and plywood sheets above the landing place has gone. The wind-break around the tent site is flattened. However, the house is intact and completely dry inside. I knew there was a problem with the window and expected that water leakage would affect the floor, but everything inside is fine.

I will have to set new mooring ropes  and wait now for a spell of good weather before I can get back and clear up.

Meanwhile, I have a final demand for Council Tax on the house. I expect the Sheriff's Officer to be knocking at the door after the 14 days payment period is up.
