The official residence now has a porch, which will make it better able to stand up to the rigours of a Forvik winter. The porch also houses the batteries and control gear for the solar panel system:

The official shield is set in place when the Steward is in residence:

The official shield was kindly donated by Andrew Tait in Burra, Shetland. It is carved in hardwood on his CNC machine and is a technical masterpiece. Andrew's machine is available for similar work to order. (Email me for Andrew's details).

The inside of the house is taking shape. It's dry and comfortable for summer use, but will need insulating for the winter. Not seen in this photo are the armchair and double bed:
