During the one calm day this week I was able to get a short visit to the island at the high tide. I had about two hours to batten down for the winter storms and try to ensure everything is as safe as possible. I anticipate it will not be possible to visit more than a few times during the winter. As I left, the swell was building up in the South harbour and I just managed to get away before it got too dangerous. Now I just hope that I've built the house strong enough to stand the winter - if it's still there in the Spring I'll be pleased!
